What Happened With the TV Animation?

Several decades ago, the best thing a person could see on the TV was the animation episodes of different shows. They were somehow fascinating even without the 3D technology, somehow amazing even without the toys in the market that look exactly like the characters in the cartoons. And what I am seeing today is a world of animation, too distant from what children need – it is a world of 3D technology where the beauty of the drawing is somehow underestimated, a world of merchandise and franchise that lacks that fascination of the old cartoon industry.
Probably it is not a social phenomenon, but the trade has expanded too much – now, like a disease, it has transformed the world of television into a nice shopping area where your children would want every single toy that is made after their favourite cartoon character. Moreover, this pursuit of industrialisation has transformed the whole animation industry into a soulless money-maker. Disney characters are no longer the fascinating cartoon animals that would take the whole day of Christmas … because children have them all in their bedrooms, on the walls, on the shelves.
And around all this trade that is going on in the cartoon industry, along with it it seems like the liveliness of cartoons and animations is gone – the flat 3D images and the simple productions that are being released cannot compare to the old Transformers series or the Walt Disney series which were quite fascinating and some people still watch them, even being quite old for that. So the question is why nowadays we can come up with everything – tattoo removal products, high tech products and all that but we cannot come up with a trade-free cartoon that would remind us of the good old times when animation used to matter more that industry.
